Payroll Specialist

Are you a detail-oriented payroll professional seeking a temporary opportunity? We're looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team on a flex onsite basis (3-5 days per week).
About the Role:
As a Payroll Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. You'll act as the primary contact with our third-party payroll provider and manage all accounting activities related to wages and benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Manage and reconcile employee time worked and pay deductions.
- Verify employee deductions for taxes, benefits, and others.
- Audit, analyze, and reconcile payroll reports to ensure accuracy.
- Manage pay and benefit codes within ADP.
- Manage year-end payroll tasks, including W-2 approvals.
- Provide backup support for the Purchasing department.
- Manage new state jurisdiction registration.
- Stay updated on payroll policies and government regulations.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree required in business, human resources, or similar field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience processing payroll.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with ADP payroll system or a comparable automated payroll system.
- Minimum 1-year experience with Epicor Accounting system (purchasing department support) strongly preferred.
- Expert-level knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
