Job Title: Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher
Location: New Orleans, LA
Type: Part-Time, Contract
Hours: 30 minutes per week (1 session per week)
Caseload: High School Student

Job Description:
We are seeking a part-time Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher to work with a high school student in New Orleans, LA. This position involves providing one 30-minute session per week to support the student's physical education needs in alignment with their individualized education plan (IEP). The ideal candidate will have experience working with students requiring adapted physical education services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 adaptive physical education session for a high school student, once per week for 30 minutes.
  • Collaborate with the student's educational team to ensure alignment with their IEP goals.
  • Monitor and document the student's progress, adjusting activities as needed to meet their individual physical development needs.
  • Create a supportive and engaging environment that encourages the student's participation and growth.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Adaptive Physical Education certification or equivalent (required).
  • Experience working with students with disabilities in a physical education setting (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with school staff and families.
