Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Tool and Die Maker for our 2nd shift to join our team. You will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of dies. You will collaborate closely with the production department to address tooling issues and ensure seamless operation. You will study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan the sequence of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies. You will use various measuring instruments to verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts and operate lathes, milling machines, and bench grinders to shape parts to specific dimensions. Additionally, you will rework damaged components in a timely manner and interact professionally with fellow team members.

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and specifications
  • Using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators
  • Operating lathes, milling machines, and bench grinders
  • Experience with large progressive, transfer, and deep draw dies
  • Cutting, shaping, and trimming blanks or blocks to specified lengths or shapes using power and hand tools
  • Reworking damaged components
  • Tool Room machining (Manual, grinders, cutters and benching equipment)

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Mount Clemens, Michigan.

Work Environment

This position is based in a typical stamping facility with six buildings and presses ranging from 100-600 tons. The environment can be loud and not the cleanest but is manageable. You will work with various machines including Mig Welding and Orbit Forming machines. The 2nd shift hours are from 2 pm - 10 pm/12 am (when working 10-hour days) with a workweek of 50 - 58 hours, including 8 hours on Saturdays. The pay range is $25 - $35/hour with a 5% shift premium.
