  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working in EPIC, Oracle, PeopleSoft, or similar ERP system.

Day to day:

Insight Global is seeking 1 Inventory Coordinator to work in the OR for a large healthcare system located in Largo, MD. The Inventory Coordinator in the Operating Room is responsible for managing and maintaining the inventory of surgical supplies and equipment. This role ensures that all necessary materials are available for surgical procedures, contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the OR.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels of surgical supplies and equipment. Perform regular inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Ordering and Replenishment: Place orders for surgical supplies and equipment as needed. Work with vendors to ensure timely delivery and manage backorders.
  • Stocking and Distribution: Ensure that all surgical supplies are properly stocked and distributed to the appropriate locations within the OR. Assist in the setup of surgical cases by providing necessary materials.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, orders, and usage. Prepare and submit inventory reports to management.
  • Compliance: Ensure all inventory management practices comply with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with OR staff to understand their needs and ensure the availability of required supplies. Communicate effectively with the sterilization department to manage the flow of instruments.
  • Problem Solving: Address any inventory-related issues promptly and efficiently. Implement solutions to prevent future shortages or overstock situations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in inventory management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of surgical instruments and supplies is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy supplies and equipment.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

Work Environment:

  • The role is primarily based in the operating room and involves exposure to a clinical environment.
