Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Behavior Intervention Specialist to join our team at Soliant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education, behavioral analysis, or psychology, and a passion for working with students to improve behavioral and academic outes. This position involves working closely with students, staff, and families to develop and implement individualized behavioral intervention plans aimed at promoting positive behavior, social-emotional development, and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Behavioral Support: Develop and implement individualized behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) based on assessment data for students with behavioral challenges.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel to support students academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Track students' progress in behavioral interventions, providing ongoing reports and adjusting plans as necessary.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide support during behavioral crises, implementing de-escalation techniques and ensuring the safety of all students and staff.
  • Training & Professional Development: Conduct professional development sessions for staff on behavior management strategies, de-escalation techniques, and best practices for supporting students with behavioral needs.
  • Family Support: Work with families to help them understand and reinforce behavioral interventions at home and ensure consistent support across settings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or related field.
  • Certification in Behavioral Analysis (e.g., BCBA, or equivalent) preferred, or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience in behavioral intervention or special education.
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based behavioral strategies and intervention techniques.
  • Excellent munication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.
  • Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to special education and behavior management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with students in K-12 settings, particularly in a school-based environment.
  • Familiarity with data collection and analysis related to behavioral interventions.
  • Experience with Restorative Practices or Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
