Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist

Location: Milpitas, CA

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct environmental audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Identify areas of non-compliance and develop corrective strategies.
  • Prepare, submit, and update regulatory reports, such as Hazardous Materials Business Plans (HMBPs) in the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS).
  • Conduct site assessments for HMBPs.
  • Advise on proper waste management practices, including hazardous and universal waste disposal and recycling programs. Collect manifest reports and enter them into the system.
  • Conduct waste assessments and prepare reports.
  • Maintain full computer skills (Microsoft Office), including Excel, and proficiency in English speaking and writing.
  • Inventory hazardous materials stored in reportable quantities at the facility.
  • Develop and implement Emergency Response Plans and procedures for the release or threatened release of hazardous materials.
  • Provide training for all new employees and annual refresher training for all employees on safety procedures in the event of a release or threatened release of hazardous materials.
  • Create annotated site maps meeting the requirements of CA Health and Safety Code, Ch. 6.95, Section 25505(a)(2).

Requirements/Job Profile:

  • Provide leadership and support the development and implementation of environmental, health, and safety compliance programs for the plants.
  • Ensure plant employees are properly trained on all company EHS procedures and policies.
  • Supervise recordkeeping required for EHS regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with EPA and OSHA regulations.
  • Familiarity with DART (Days Away, Restricted or Transferred) and reporting.
  • Familiarity with net zero emission requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of California environmental and Cal/OSHA regulations is strongly preferred.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent level of knowledge.
  • 5-10 years of experience as an Environmental Technician.
  • Certification with the Certified Unified Program Agency (CUPA) is preferred.
  • Willingness to stay updated with industry standards and regulations.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $65.00
