Job DescriptionJob Description

Robert Half Technology is working with a New Orleans-area company to find an Information Security Engineer to join their growing organization. This position is responsible for maintaining the high availability and efficiency of security tools, systems, and services. This role involves working with the Security Operations Center to identify and respond to threats, managing complex projects, and implementing defense-in-depth strategies. The engineer collaborates across teams, designs security architecture, and develops solutions meeting internal and external standards. Additionally, they assess risks, manage vulnerabilities, and respond to incidents. The position requires expertise in networking, security technologies, and threat intelligence, along with experience in security engineering, scripting, and incident response, while working in a collaborative environment.


Experience with daily vulnerability scans and penetration testing is needed as well as having worked in a variety of security environments.

• Applicant must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of IT Security.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Vulnerability Scanning is required.
• Must have considerable experience in Penetration Testing.
• Candidate should hold relevant certifications in IT Security.
• A strong understanding of network protocols, data on the wire, and covert channels is essential.
• Familiarity with various operating systems including but not limited to Windows, Linux, Unix is a must.
• Proven knowledge of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts.
• Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them.
• Understanding of cryptography principles is necessary.
• The candidate should be able to work in a team and communicate effectively.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential.
