Job Title: General Education Language Arts Teacher
Location: Independence, Oregon
Caseload: High School
Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)

Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated General Education Language Arts Teacher to join our team in Independence, Oregon. As a Language Arts Teacher, you will play a vital role in educating and inspiring high school students in the areas of reading, writing, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective language arts lessons aligned with state standards and curriculum guidelines.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic growth and personal development for all students.
  • Assess student learning progress through various methods, including quizzes, tests, projects, and presentations.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their language arts skills and achieve academic success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to support student learning and development.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices in language arts education.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching license/certification in Language Arts or Secondary Education.
  • Previous experience teaching language arts at the high school level is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of language arts curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
