Job Overview:

Soliant Education, in partnership with a vibrant school district in Independence, OR, is looking for a motivated and energetic Physical Education (PE) Teacher to join their team for the remainder of the school year. This full-time position is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and physical activity among students. As a PE Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in developing students' physical competencies, encouraging a love for fitness, and fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum that aligns with state standards and promotes physical activity and healthy habits.
  • Organize games, sports, and physical fitness activities that cater to all students' abilities and interests.
  • Assess student progress and adapt activities to ensure all students remain engaged and challenged.
  • Maintain a safe and positive learning environment, enforcing all safety guidelines and school policies.
  • Collaborate with school staff to integrate physical education with other disciplines.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and the benefits of physical education.
  • Participate in school events and contribute to the school community as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification in Physical Education in Oregon, or the ability to obtain certification before the start of the contract.
  • Previous experience as a PE Teacher or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of physical education pedagogies and a variety of sports and activities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students to participate in physical activities.
  • Commitment to professional development and staying current with best practices in physical education.
