We are looking for a General Accountant to join our team
You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records for our company. Under the supervision of the Controller, we are looking for a General accounting professional with demonstrated experience in general accounting functions (A/R, A/P, Inventory review/audit) cost and manufacturing experience is a plus. Proven analytical and communication skills. Demonstrated ERP experience, we use Microsoft AX. Works independently as well as in a team setting, will communicate with our engineers operations and sales personnel.
Accounting Responsibilities:
- Support all aspects of corporate accounting, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), accruals, fixed assets, depreciation, prepaids, and the month-end closing process.
- Prepare and reconcile journal entries.
- Ensure timely processing of accounts payable and collaborate with vendors to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Assist with accounts receivable inquiries from customers.
- Perform month-end closing activities and journal entry preparations.
- Contribute to the preparation of month-end, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and annual reports.
- Reconcile inventory, investigate discrepancies, and implement resolutions.
- Analyze inventory locations for accuracy and valuation.
- Participate in and provide analysis for the cycle counting program.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in internal processes and controls.
- Assist in addressing inquiries during the annual external audit.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses and contribute to special projects as required.
Required Competencies:
- Proficient in ERP manufacturing systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills.
- Strong ability to collaborate with other departments and corporate staff.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This role operates within a professional office setting and involves regular use of standard office equipment.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands of this role are representative of those required to perform essential job functions, some of which may be accommodated. The role requires regular communication, both written and verbal, frequent movement within the office, and use of a computer. Occasionally, the employee may need to lift up to 30 lbs. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, and color vision.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, hourly position, with typical business hours from Monday to Friday.
Travel:
No travel is required for this role.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- An advanced degree and/or relevant certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in accounting or finance.
