Payroll Accountant

LHH is seeking a skilled Payroll Accountant to manage our client’s payroll system. The Payroll Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the swift and accurate processing of payroll, including updating employee records, processing timesheets, and issuing paychecks. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with numbers and financial data. This contract role will pay $80k-$85k and will offer a hybrid schedule working three days in the office and two days from home.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process payroll for employees.

  • Ensure all payroll transactions are processed efficiently.

  • Collect, calculate, and enter data to maintain and update payroll information.

  • Compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages.

  • Determine payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income, social security taxes, and employer’s social security, unemployment, and workers' compensation payments.

  • Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

  • Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests.

  • Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.

  • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

  • Handle payroll audits and ensure accurate and timely filing of payroll taxes.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a payroll accountant or in a similar role.

  • Understanding of local and governmental rules about payroll.

  • Excellent knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and Excel.

  • Great computational ability.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Payroll certification (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional) is a plus.



Pay Details: $80,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year
