Job DescriptionJob DescriptionScion Staffing has been engaged to conduct the search for a Controller on behalf of our client, a holding company for well-known food retailing brands. This is a direct-hire, on-site position in Portland, OR.

Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will oversee the companyâ?™s financial strategy, manage accounts, payroll, budgets, cash flow, and forecasting. You will handle transactions, debts, audits, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise an accounting team of 12-15.
  • Implement and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
  • Oversee outsourced functions and design an efficient accounting department structure.
  • Manage subsidiary accounting operations, including control systems and transaction processes.
  • Ensure timely payments, collections, payroll processing, and debt payments.
  • Complete bank reconciliations and maintain the chart of accounts, filing system, and transaction controls.
  • Prepare accurate financial statements, annual reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Develop benchmarks, analyze variances, and generate financial metrics.
  • Provide cost reports and financial analyses for investments, pricing, and contracts.
  • Facilitate audits and ensure compliance with debt covenants and government regulations.
  • Handle tax filings and reporting requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 7 years in a supervisory role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Large ERP Systems experience required.

COMPENSATION:
This position offers a salary between $135,000-$175,000$yr, along with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, time off, 401K match, etc.
