Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are in search of a meticulous Bookkeeper to join our team in Lincoln, Nebraska, 68516, United States. In this role, you will manage various accounting tasks, including period-end closing, SOX compliance, and financial operations. This position offers a long term contract employment opportunity and requires close collaboration with both Operational and Corporate Finance Teams to enhance business processes and streamline the closing process.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee general accounting responsibilities relating to period-end closing, SOX compliance, and financial statement audit support.
• Ensure consistent and punctual reporting of financial outcomes for contract revenue recognition, inventory valuation, and contracts at risk, abiding by GAAP and corporate and regulatory demands.
• Construct and assess monthly and quarterly working documents related to inventory and risk contracts, guaranteeing proper classification and no significant misstatement.
• Carry out variance analysis for P& L and Balance Sheet accounts to detect and rectify discrepancies.
• Develop and sustain a thorough understanding of the business, its transactional and contractual obligations, and actively participate in resolving business issues.
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations to confirm accuracy and completeness.
• Aid in the preparation of statutory compliance reporting, adhering to regulatory requirements.
• Engage in special projects, committees, and undertake other accounting responsibilities or initiatives as assigned.
• Use accounting software systems and other tools such as ADP - Financial Services, CRM, Crystal Reports, and Data Mining Techniques to perform accounting functions, accrual accounting, auditing, budget processes, capital management, and use of Oracle and NetSuite.• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is a must.
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is required.
• Experience with CRM systems is essential.
• Crystal Reports knowledge is desirable.
• Proficiency in Data Mining Techniques is highly valued.
• Understanding of Accounting Functions is expected.
• Knowledge of Accrual Accounting is required.
• Experience in Auditing is desirable.
• Familiarity with Budget Processes is a must.
• Understanding of Capital Management is essential.
• Proficiency in Oracle software is highly valued.
• Experience with NetSuite is expected.
