Job Overview:
ProCare Therapy is currently seeking a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to join our team in Chattanooga, TN, for the 2024-2025 school year. This full-time role is ideal for an experienced interpreter passionate about working with K-12 students. The position is set to begin immediately and will continue through the end of the school year. We are actively interviewing candidates who are ready to make a positive impact in an educational setting.

Position Details:

  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Student Population: K-12
  • Start Date: Immediate
  • End Date: End of the 2024-2025 school year
  • Location: Onsite in Chattanooga, TN

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide sign language interpretation for K-12 students in various educational settings, including classrooms, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
  • Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and peers.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support students' educational goals.
  • Adapt interpreting techniques to accommodate students' individual learning needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of services provided and student progress.

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Experience working as an SLI in an educational setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Deaf culture and the ability to work effectively in diverse environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support student success.
