Job DescriptionJob DescriptionScion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Technical Writer for our client, a well-established food manufacturing company. This is a full-time, contract, on-site opportunity based in North Portland, OR and is ready for immediate hire

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop high-quality documentation such as user guides, technical manuals, product specifications, training materials, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Work closely with staff to gather and verify technical information and translate it into clear, concise documentation.
  • Document processes, system workflows, and software functionalities, ensuring that both technical and non-technical users can easily understand and follow.
  • Regularly review, update, and improve existing documentation to reflect product updates, process changes, and feedback from internal teams.
  • Ensure all documentation adheres to company standards for clarity, format, and structure, providing consistent style and tone across materials.
  • Organize and manage documentation repositories, ensuring that the latest versions of documents are easily accessible to the teams who need them.
  • Assist in the creation of training materials and documentation for onboarding new employees or users of company systems and products.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous experience as a Technical Writer.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong focus on clarity, accuracy, and simplicity.
  • Experience with documentation tools (e.g. MS Office, Google Suite).
  • Ability to quickly learn complex technical concepts and communicate them in an accessible format.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in gathering information and ensuring technical accuracy.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This position offers an hourly pay rate of $30, a monthly technology stipend, medical, dental, vision and voluntary life insurance, an employee assistance plan (EAP), and commuter and transit benefits for those who are working on average 30 or more hours per week. An employee retirement plan is also available.
