Job Summary:Client is seeking a highly motivated, professional, and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist - Distribution to join the Operations group. This role will be primarily responsible for ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations related to the storage and shipment of materials, with a focus on quality, accuracy, and safety. The Logistics Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining inventory control, timely order fulfillment, and ensuring the accurate shipment of materials, finished goods, and samples. The role will also require compliance with International shipping laws and Client’s regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:Inventory Management:Ensure the accuracy of inventory counts, identify discrepancies, and take corrective actions to prevent inconsistencies.Maintain up-to-date records of inventory locations and ensure timely management of expired and non-conforming items.Ensure adequate product stock is available in the distribution area and maintain proper inventory replenishment.
Shipping & Compliance:Responsible for the shipment of finished goods, materials, samples, and other items in accordance with client’s policies.Ensure that all shipments meet DOT and IATA regulations.Communicate with customer service and operations teams regarding special shipping regulations, as necessary.
Operational Support:Responsible for daily closeout of orders, posting, and invoice printing.Work with personnel to maintain safety stocks of essential supplies (e.g., shippers, TempTales, trays, security bags, etc.).Participate in process documentation, focusing on quality, efficiency, and safety improvements.
Health & Safety:Maintain a safe work environment, ensuring all activities adhere to company Health & Safety policies.
Training & Development:Cross-train within the department to provide full-service support to other teams.Conduct departmental training as required and ensure that Distribution training records are kept up-to-date.
Asset Management & Compliance:Manage company assets responsibly when ordering supplies, traveling, or using company resources.Ensure full adherence to Client policies, local, and corporate regulations, seeking clarification where necessary.
Customer Service & Coordination:Proactively communicate with other teams to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment and material distribution.
Required Qualifications:Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:Proven experience in logistics, distribution, or warehouse management, preferably in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Strong understanding of DOT and IATA shipping regulations.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of standing and walking for 90% of the day.
  • Ability to bend and retrieve products from shelves.

Preferred Qualifications:Experience:Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing or life sciences environment is a plus.
Skills:Familiarity with Life Science Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
Knowledge:Understanding of international shipping laws and customs regulations.
Certifications:Any relevant certifications in logistics, inventory management, or shipping compliance are a plus.Forklift Certification or other warehouse certifications are preferred.
