Payroll Tax Analyst/Tax Analyst

Job Description:
Responsible for in-scope processes related to one or multiple lines of business within the centralized Tax Information Reporting function. This position supports the reduction/elimination of the business franchise & regulatory risk through accurate and timely reporting and enhanced due diligence on customer accounts. The incumbent will support our businesses and is expected to develop and enhance their product knowledge within a short timeframe. In addition, the incumbent may be expected to migrate information reporting functions from various businesses; this process includes training and job shadowing, building documentation such as procedures and process flows, and identifying gaps in the process based on IRS regulations.
This position will work in a team-oriented environment. The key objectives are as follows:
• Execute functions from the Tax Information Reporting process tree including, but not limited to, tax form validation, withholding, information reporting, legal entity maintenance, and governance
• Act as a tax information reporting specialist to execute operational and project initiatives
• Act as an internally and externally recognized subject matter expert
• Migration of work into our centralized hub
• Develop best practices and implement appropriate procedures and controls to ensure consistent compliance with Information Reporting, FATCA, and/or CRS requirements
• Support Service Delivery model with all stakeholders
• Identify and participate in process re-engineering and re-design activities to achieve better controls, compliance, and efficiencies
• Support audits by tax authorities and Internal Audit
• Support Technology projects from a tax technical perspective
• Contribute towards departmental requirement to adhere to strict regulatory and compliance requirements per tax authority and business policy
• Perform reviews of written tax policy and procedures, research and respond to inquiries from operational areas
Qualifications:
1. Bachelors Degree and 1-2 years of relevant experience is required
2. Basic understanding of U.S. tax information reporting rules applicable to U.S. Persons and non-U.S. Persons
3. Basic understanding and working knowledge of IRS Forms W-9 and W-8 and their associated requirements; Forms 1098, 1099 series, and 1042-S; Forms 945 and 1042
4. Excellent communication skills to drive engagement and close interactions with key stakeholders. Provide basic advisory services primarily for internal clients
5. Ability to examine processes and procedures, experience with Process Re-engineering. Re-design and Process Automation experience is preferred
6. Well versed in standard desktop technology with advanced Excel skills. Access experience preferred
7. Liaise with Corporate Tax for complex tax advisory inquiries and policy requirements"
