Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Procurement Specialist to be a part of our team. Situated in Atlanta, Georgia, this role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. The Procurement Specialist will have the responsibility to manage procurement processes, interact with vendors and suppliers, as well as support internal departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that procurement needs are met in a cost-effective and timely manner.

Responsibilities:

• Actively assist in identifying and establishing relationships with new suppliers and vendors while managing existing ones to ensure timely deliveries and quality service.
• Generate and process purchase orders based on internal requests, ensuring accuracy in pricing, quantities, and delivery schedules.
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, assess competitive pricing, and explore opportunities for cost savings.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Monitor stock levels and assist in managing inventory to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Verify invoices from suppliers against purchase orders and delivery receipts, ensuring that discrepancies are resolved before payment processing.
• Collaborate with various departments such as operations, finance, and production to ensure that procurement needs are met efficiently and within budget.
• Assist in tracking supplier performance, including delivery timelines, quality of goods, and service levels.
• Prepare regular reports related to procurement activities, spend analysis, and supplier performance.

• Knowledge of Budget Processes and Buying Processes

• Must possess excellent Customer Service skills

• Experience with Invoicing

• Proficient in both verbal and written communication

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills

• Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities

• Associates degree preferred

• Relevant work experience in procurement or a related field is a plus but not required

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

• Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced business environment.
