Position Overview:

The Shelter Resource Coordinator will proactively build and maintain a robust referral network with external providers and agencies, ensuring families receive comprehensive, high-quality assistance that meets their diverse needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the timely, accurate, and detailed documentation of all actions, fully aligning with program standards and reporting requirements.
  • Take full ownership of transportation coordination for the designated Regions program, managing both public and private transportation solutions. This includes initiating and maintaining strong partnerships with providers to secure reliable transportation for families.
  • Lead collaboration efforts with the Shelter Management team to strategically coordinate external resources such as community services, food banks, transportation providers, and key shelter partners optimizing support for families.
  • Centralize and streamline essential shelter operations to maximize efficiency and significantly expand the scope of available family support services.
  • Act as the primary point of communication for critical updates and information flow between community partners, collaborators, Shelter Management, and the families, ensuring clear and consistent messaging.
  • Partner closely with the Shelter Leadership team and Case Managers to ensure seamless service referrals and rapid access to critical support networks for families.
  • Oversee the organization of all on-site and off-site resources, ensuring families have access to essential services and support.
  • Immediately refer domestic violence clients to trusted external providers and other specialized agencies to ensure their safety and access to specialized care.
  • Support the Healthcare Coordinator by facilitating all insurance-related matters, including registrations, insurance changes, and maximizing the benefits available to families.
  • Develop and distribute comprehensive regional resource packets, equipping families with essential information as they transition out of the shelter system.

Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

  • Excellent people skills and ability to work within an intergenerational and diverse environment.
  • Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and manage risk.
  • Ability to successfully structure, drive, or facilitate decision-making processes, including those with conflicting priorities.
  • Adaptable in the face of a changing and demanding environment.
  • Multilingual or bilingual skills preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities/ Key Relationships:

  • No supervisory responsibilities
  • Must maintain positive relationships with Shelter Management

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory and administrative experience overseeing programmatic operations.
  • Minimum 7 years of human service experience.
  • Experience in shelter and/or housing management and operations a must.
  • Experience developing culturally and linguistically diverse programs for individuals and families from diverse socio-economic, racial, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds

Work Hours, Working Styles, and Additional Benefits:

  • This role is primarily required to be in person, with limited opportunities for hybrid work
  • Work must occur between Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
  • Able to travel in between shelter locations.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Compensation:

A salary within the range of $51,000 - $69,000 will be provided to the successful candidate having met the minimum requirements for the position consistent with the Making Opportunity Count compensation philosophy. The candidates exact placement will be determined based on factors consistent with Making Opportunity Counts compensation framework.
