Responsibilities:
• Accurately compile data and submit returns for federal, state, and local government sales & use tax and property tax.
• Manage company's travel & expense and credit card programs, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Analyze and summarize account information, providing valuable insights to leadership.
• Conduct monthly internal audit functions and assist in preparing year-end audit schedules.
• Play a key role in the timely preparation of monthly and yearly financial statements.
• Ensure adherence to accounting principles and company procedures within set deadlines.
• Perform treasury functions such as reconciling and reporting on cash accounts, and managing funding requests.
• Review Accounts Payable invoices for accuracy and maintain workflow routing using the accounts payable software solution.
• Understand contracts and purchase orders in relation to invoices presented for payment.
• Manage payment batches, obtain disbursement approval, enter manual payments, and upload payment files to the bank’s Safe-Pay portal.
• Drive process efficiency and continuous improvements within the department.
• Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned.• Holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role.
• Deep understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws and regulations.
• Demonstrable proficiency in Great Plains Dynamics.
• Proficiency in Great Plains Accounting is mandatory.
• Excellent mathematical skills and an analytical mind.
• Strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrates ethical behavior and business practices.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in Office Suite or similar software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
