Job Description

The machine operator will be responsible for operating the Angle line, Beam line, DO All Saw, Saw, and Plasma table. All machines are CNC operated for the most part, with programming completed, but the operator will need to know how to make edits to the machine. The operator must have experience working with structural steel as most projects will require it. Machine operators will be responsible for troubleshooting machines and must be mechanically inclined. Operators will be changing out blades on machines and using hand and power tools. Operators will work off of blueprints to cut and shape steel to specified requirements. They must be able to use a tape measure to measure their work accurately. Additionally, operators will be responsible for operating a sit-down forklift to unload materials and transport them to and from the lines.

Responsibilities
  • Operate the Angle line, Beam line, DO All Saw, Saw, and Plasma table
  • Edit CNC machine programming as needed
  • Work with structural steel for various projects
  • Troubleshoot and maintain machinery
  • Change blades on machines
  • Use hand and power tools
  • Work from blueprints to cut and shape steel
  • Measure work accurately using a tape measure
  • Operate a sit-down forklift to unload and transport materials
Essential Skills
  • 3+ years of machine operation in a fabrication setting
  • 1+ years of structural steel experience
  • Proficient in reading tape measures
  • 3+ years of blueprint reading
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Proficient with hand and power tools
  • Ability to troubleshoot machinery
  • Forklift operation
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Siemens experience is a plus
  • Programming knowledge is a plus
  • Welding skills
  • Ability to perform maintenance on machines is a big plus
