Job Title: Special Education Teacher

Location: Snellville, Georgia

Position Overview: We are in search of a passionate and mitted Special Education Teacher to join our educational team in Snellville, Georgia. The ideal candidate will have a strong dedication to enhancing the educational experiences of students with diverse learning needs. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for crafting and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), working collaboratively with general education teachers and parents, and ensuring that every student receives the necessary support to excel academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
  • Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths and areas of improvement.
  • Modify and adapt the general education curriculum to acmodate students with disabilities.
  • Use a variety of instructional techniques and strategies to support student learning and engagement.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and parents to create an inclusive educational environment.
  • Provide direct instruction to students in small groups or one-on-one settings.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching methods as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student assessments, progress, and IEPs.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in Special Education.
  • Thorough understanding of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and relevant state and federal regulations.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent munication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities and learning needs is preferred.

Experience:

  • Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with different types of disabilities and special education techniques.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective instructional strategies for students with special needs.
