Job Details:
- Position: Full-time
- Orientation: 8/16/2024
- Caseload:1 - Preschool
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized support to a preschooler, implementing IEPs and behavior plans tailored to their developmental needs.
- Monitor and document the childs progress, adjusting strategies as needed to promote their growth and learning.
- Assist the child during transitions between activities, using calming techniques and supportive strategies to facilitate smooth changes.
- Collaborate with educators and therapists to deliver effective interventions and supports based on the childs specific needs.
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills in early childhood education and support.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all school policies, including those relevant to supporting the preschoolers needs.
Requirements:
- 1+ years of school special education paraprofessional experience
- Must meet one of the following within 1 year from hire:
- 2 years of post-secondary study (48 college credits)
- Associate degree or higher
- Meet rigorous State or local assessment standards
- Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate
- Credential of Competency for Special Education Paraeducators in PA through PaTTAN
- Credential Process:
- View seven core competency videos on PaTTAN, take quizzes, and download certificates
- Document competency understanding with a supervisor, teacher, or principal
- Submit completed checklist to PDE for approval
