We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Baltimore, Maryland. This role involves ensuring accurate accounting records for receipts and/or disbursements within the company. The Staff Accountant will also be responsible for performing a variety of complex clerical, bookkeeping and accounting tasks, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting records, and preparing financial reports.


Responsibilities:


• Ensure accurate accounting records for receipts and/or disbursements

• Perform complex clerical, bookkeeping and accounting tasks

• Apply accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting records

• Prepare financial reports and statements

• Prepare and post accounting documents such as fees, receipts, invoices, expense accounts, and more

• Post requisitions, receipts, and disbursement information to appropriate ledgers or journals

• Perform monthly cash reconciliation and various balance sheet account controls

• Interface with internal departments to compile financial data to satisfy corporate consolidation reporting requirements

• Carry out specific tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for the work site

• Possess at least 3 years of experience in the role of a Staff Accountant or a similar position
• Proficiency in carrying out bank reconciliations
• Proficiency in managing general ledger accounts
• Experience in recording journal entries
• Experience in managing month-end close procedures
• Experience in processing disbursements
• Proficiency in bookkeeping and executing bookkeeping functions
• Ability to prepare financial reports and statements
• Experience in managing expense accounts
• Proficiency in preparing, posting, and managing invoices
• Experience in carrying out cash reconciliations
• Ability to manage balance sheet accounts
