Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Description: The Safetyville Program Coordinator is an essential member of the Safetyville team supporting programs to reduce injuries and save lives by providing engaging, educational experiences for children and community members in our unique, tiny village.
The Program Coordinator performs a variety of assigned duties to help create positive client experiences from scheduling and delivering programs, reaching out to the community, and building volunteer support for education and events at Safetyville.
As the front line of our community education department, you will have the opportunity to build positive relationships with the Safetyville staff, visitors, partners, and supporters, and suggest improvements to Safetyville that could enhance our programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Program Administration
  • Create amazing real-time experiences for our community at Safetyville by performing opening and closing duties, ensuring all interactive exhibits are in working condition, preparing materials as needed, answering community inquiries through phone calls and emails, and assisting with creating interactive programs to promote health and safety.
  • Schedule Safetyville activities, determine the staff required to fulfill commitments for program delivery and contact on-call staff and volunteers to confirm coverage.
  • Compile and maintain all records of business transactions and office activities related to the daily operation of the department.
Program Delivery
  • Lead childrens field trips and birthday party programs following the Safetyville curriculum that empower and inspire children to keep themselves and their community safe and healthy.
  • Collaborate in the planning and execution of Safetyville activities and events to increase awareness and reinforce lifelong safe and healthy decision-making.
  • Coordinate outreach events and lead activities at schools and in the community to promote safe behaviors and raise awareness of Safetyville as a community resource.
  • Marketing
  • Assist with the development of marketing and event materials (invitations, programs, flyers, signage, brochures, social media content, etc.)
Volunteer Co-ordination
  • Recruit and schedule volunteers for all volunteer functions including activities, programs, and events; and maintain volunteer records to provide adequate coverage.
  • Assist with volunteer supervision and training for assignments that match their strengths.
  • Work collaboratively with Community Program staff to identify opportunities for growth and create amazing real-time experiences for volunteers.
  • Other duties as required to meet the needs of our clients, our employees, and Safety Center as a whole.
Regular, predictable attendance is requiredAbility to get along and work effectively with others
Qualifications:The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, experience with event planning and non-profit fundraising, be detail oriented, flexible and a team player.

Compensation details: 24-26 Hourly Wage
