In Flight’s Community Hab department is looking for creative and self-motivated staff to work 1:1 with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities both at home and within the community. You must be able to relate positively to people with developmental disabilities and want to support their goals for a fulfilling life. This is a flexible, fun, and independent position

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

This position entails providing one-to-one support to a person with a developmental disability in their home
and community. You must have patience, a personable demeanor, excellent communication skills, and be able to effectively work with minimal direct supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for working with people to achieve valued outcomes set forth in their at home residential habilitation plan as well as their individualized service plans.

What you will be doing:
• Teaching new tasks
• Assisting in the creation and achievement of life goals
• Planning activities within the home and/or community
• Working independently while collaborating with other team members
• Accurately and promptly documenting services, using provided tablet.

Per Diem (5 to 29 hours a week), evenings, and weekends. Cases in Dutchess County (Red Hook, Pine Plains, Veribank, Staatsburg),

$18.50 an hour
PAY INCENTIVES Available- Education and Experience
**QUARTERLY BONUS- Must work 20 hours per week per quarter to be eligible**


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma/GED is required; an Associate’s Degree is preferred.
· No experience required; one year of related experience is preferred. Working as caregiver or with adults with developmental disabilities.

Be empathetic and have a team approach to care for the individuals
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Be energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor
Be able to attend mandatory trainings as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

  • • High School Diploma or GED
    • Pass all NYS and OPWDD background clearances.
    • Attending a full multi-day orientation in Red Hook
    • USE OF YOUR OWN VEHICLE / Valid NYS driver license with approval from agency insurance carrier

*Mileage reimbursement available for any transportation of the person(s) supported

• 3 weeks PTO in the first year along with 56 hours of sick time
