Communications Manager (Engineering/Environmental)

Our client-an environmental engineering and consulting company providing strategic environmental and engineering services throughout the U.S.-is seeking a Communications Manager for their Butler, NJ office. This hybrid position requires three days per week in the office and will oversee corporate communications initiatives across the firm, working collaboratively with the company's Market Area Directors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing campaigns to support strategic goals across technical market areas.

  • Manage corporate brand development and ongoing implementation.

  • Create thought leadership content for materials such as website, blogs, media, video, etc., based on marketing strategies.

  • Collaborate with the technical team to develop and maintain project case studies, employee spotlights, and other content.

  • Oversee internal communications programs to share information within the firm and inform staff of marketing efforts.

  • Manage digital media and social media initiatives (website, blogs, videos).

  • Identify key media outlets and maintain editorial contacts.

  • Coordinate award program submissions and oversee special events planning.

  • Attend trade shows and manage event planning, execution, and follow-up.

  • Ensure quality control of all communications materials.

  • Manage relationships with marketing vendors and consultants for advertising, videography, or graphic design.

  • Conduct communications training for principals and technical staff.

  • Work collaboratively with the Proposal Manager to direct, train, and mentor marketing and communications support staff.

Travel
This position is primarily hybrid, requiring three days per week in the office.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, English, or related field and 5+ years of marketing experience in environmental/engineering professional services (recommended).

  • Without a degree, 7+ years of relevant experience in engineering and environmental consulting (recommended).

Capabilities / Qualifications

  • Experience developing and implementing strategic marketing communications campaigns across multiple platforms and tracking performance metrics.

  • Strong understanding of engineering/environmental consulting terminology and delivery methods.

  • Leadership and mentoring skills.

  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.

  • Professional demeanor for interaction with all levels, both inside and outside the firm.

  • Ability to see the big picture and delegate tasks to achieve objectives.
