Job Description

Responsible for prepping machines for shift start-up and/or product change; operating auxiliary equipment to produce various types and sizes of manufactured products while ensuring quality and production goals are met; performing troubleshooting on equipment as needed.Production:- Proficient in all operator 1 & 2 job description requirements- Monitors and performs the operations of the processing equipment for production with minimal supervision- Ability to assist higher-level operators- Uses measuring equipment to ensure all quality specifications are met- Assists in the training of lower level operators- Operates any material handling and processing equipment required for production and/or replenishment of raw materials- Utilizes shop floor management system to update CIP boards when necessary- Ability to spot malfunctions with controls on equipment and assist with repairs- Communicates with process and tooling technicians to help with equipment and assist with root cause analysis pertaining to the production process- Able to perform basic preventative maintenance on equipmentSupply Raw Material:- Visually checks workstations to determine if supplies are getting low; pulls supplies from designated stocking areas- Transports materials to and from workstations utilizing necessary material handling equipment- Notifies supervisor and/or material handler when supplies are at reorder levels- Proficient in identifying the difference in raw material types and part numbers- Able to identify materials required by reviewing bill of materials and can effectively communicate any shortagesQuality and Testing:- Tests and inspects the produced products to ensure they meet all quality specifications- Reports when products are outside of the specifications to proper supervision and/or quality personnel- Performs non-conforming product procedures when necessary- Isolates and/or rework items that do not meet specifications or quality standards- Ability to input accurate data into quality control system- Ability to identify raw materials that do not meet quality requirementsOther:- May be required to work different shifts as needed- May be required to wear assorted PPE for designated work areaSafety:- Use common sense in performing your job functions- Responsible to report any work injury/illness to your Supervisor- Responsible to report unsafe conditions to your Supervisor or Safety Manager- Do not use any equipment, vehicles or material when you are impaired by illness or under the influence of any substance that may affect your judgment- Keep your work area clean and organized- Responsible to use mechanical devices or request assistance in lifting heavy loads- Wear seat belts and/or appropriate harness when operating any company or rented vehicle and/or forklift- Do not use tops of machines and/or equipment for extra storage or to hold items- Keep aisles and/or exits clear; do not let cords interfere with walkways- Store all sharp objects properly when not in use- Open and close doors cautiously and use extra caution at blind pathway intersections- Report and/or clean up all spills immediately. If spilled material is hazardous, use proper hazardous spill procedures for that product- Use proper stepstools, platforms or ladders for your duties as they relate to hazardous waste- Place hazardous waste in satellite accumulation containers- Move hazardous waste containers to the appropriate accumulation area
