LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a client to hire an Accountant for a permanent opportunity based in Rocklin, California. Ideally you will possess a CPA license or be a candidate to receive your CPA licenses. In this role, you will help serve the needs of more than 100 homeowner associations across California. You will work for a family owned and operated business that provides an engaging environment for team members to seize a unique opportunity to enhance the living experience of more than 20,000 members through accounting, management, HR, and consulting services while developing their own knowledge and skills. You will supervise four team members in the production of more thant 100 monthly financial statement preparations, approximately 50 annual compiled financial forecasts, and 30 annual compiled financial statements.

 

PLEASE NOTE: All duties for this role are performed at the client’s headquarters in Rocklin, California. This is NOT a remote role.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee Accountants and other financial professionals

  • Make suggestions and collaborate with board members and key stakeholders regarding budgets and other financial management decisions.

  • Participate in budgeting processes

  • Maintain records of financial transactions; ensure legal compliance.

  • Develop systems for financial transactions and bookkeeping policies.

  • Oversee ledger reconciliation and manage accounts payable/receivable

  • Analyze expenditures and provide documentation.

  • Prepare trial balances and reconcile entries.

  • Reconcile bank statements and maintain subsidiary accounts.

  • Prepare and distribute financial reports to stakeholders.

  • Investigate and resolve accounting errors.

  • Liaise with Tax Accountants to track tax payments and returns

  • File and remit taxes as directed.

  • Stay informed on industry developments and changes in regulations

  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance and a CPA certification.

  • 3 years of general accounting experience.

  • Familiarity with General Ledger and budget creation.

  • Proficiency in accounting and financial software.

  • Advanced working knowledge of spreadsheets (familiarity with formulas, VLOOUPS and pivot tables.

  • Ability to problem-solve

  • Ability to explain complex accounting data in a simple way

  • Comfortable with computer software applications; advanced 10-key skills

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Active listening, critical thinking, reading comprehension, effective speaking, and writing skills.
