LAB GLASSWARE WASHER OPENING
***1st Shift 7am-330pm***
Must Have & Qualifications:
- Glass washing experience from Biotech, Pharma or Medical Device setting (or other heavily regulated setting)
- Autoclave experience is preferred
- Ability to work M-F 7am-330pm
- Able to learn and apply new skills after appropriate training.
- Displays technical skills and working familiarity with lab procedures and processes.
- High level of customer service skills.
- Able to lift 50lbs.
- High attention to detail.
- Proficient at Excel Data entry.
- Proactively communicates with Lab Services team and end-users.
Description:
LABORATORY SERVICES GLASS WASH TECH
- Glassware Management
- Services provided to all internal laboratories, including the Incubator lab.
- Collect and transport glassware for washing.
- Inspect glassware for chips and cracks breakage and dispose of broken or compromised glass.
- Wash, sterilize, and autoclave glassware per customer specifications.
- Deliver glassware to Research and Development departments (and other lab locations upon request).
- Prepare clean glassware for storage. Store and periodically inventory surplus glassware.
- Maintain glass consumable stockroom inventories throughout the Research departments.
- Inventory and purchase glass and consumables as needed.
- Color code all new glassware per lab destination.
- Provide special request for glassware and sterilization of various laboratory equipment or supplies per customer requirements.
- Provide glassware support for equipment validation.
- Perform other duties in support of the glass wash function, including removal, redeployment and relocation of glassware. Coordinate with EH&S to dispose (discard, recycle, re-use, donate) surplus glassware.
- Broken glass bins -Set up new bins in all main laboratory locations & Package and discard full broken glass bins to dumpsters.
- Maintain all glassware stocking locations in the labs and glasswasher room clean, organized, and labeled.
- Equipment
- Autoclave: Operate autoclave per company guidelines and industry best practices.
- Sterilize glass, plastic, surgical tools, and tower racks or other misc. items.
- Glass Washer: Operate Miele Glass wash equipment (3 total) per company guidelines and industry best practices
- Wash all glass, plastic items, as well as safety glasses, and any special requests.
- Perform daily strainer cleaning, and monthly spray arm cleaning (or earlier as needed).
- Replace empty detergent, install new detergent, and prime glass washer.
- Collect empty detergent containers and consolidate liquid to be reused.
- Notify EH&S of detergent container pick up.
- Order detergents as needed and maintain inventory.
- Performs other duties as assigned related to the position and scope of work in Glass Wash services
- Cross-train in Chemical Management, chemistry analytical solvent reagent preparation, and buffer prep.
