This role provides a unique opportunity to manage and administer comprehensive employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will be skilled in benefits administration, employee engagement, and team leadership, and share our commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred

Responsibilities
  • Oversee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and wellness initiatives.
  • Manage annual benefits enrollment and provide ongoing employee education.
  • Design and administer leave programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Manage ADA accommodation requests, recommending solutions to support employee work.
  • Administer the workers' compensation program.
  • Serve as the primary contact for benefits and leave inquiries from brokers, providers, and employees.
  • Implement reporting procedures and conduct benefit audits to ensure compliance and data accuracy.
  • Supervise and guide the benefits team in daily administration.
  • Audit post-payroll records for employees in "active but not paid" status to prevent benefit coverage issues.
  • Process and reconcile benefit vendor invoices; use data to recommend improvements.
  • Manage OSHA reporting and communication.
  • Handle Medicare employment verification forms and process OAG requests; coordinate EOI with Payroll.
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper organization of benefit and medical records.
  • Develop training and communication tools to promote understanding of benefit, workers' compensation, and leave programs.
  • Conduct benefits education and train managers on leave and sick time responsibilities.
  • Develop metrics to assess the effectiveness of benefits and leave programs.
  • Draft monthly benefit and wellness communications for internal newsletters.
  • Respond to inquiries on benefits enrollments, plan provisions, status changes, and general questions.
  • Ensure timely communication with payroll regarding arrears or refunds due to QLEs.
  • Manage records in compliance with retention policies and relevant laws.


Qualifications
  • Associate degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field; additional experience or HR certification may substitute for education (High School diploma or GED required).
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Proven experience in benefit administration, including FMLA, ADA, ACA, and Workersâ?™ Compensation program management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certification from HRCI (PHR/SPHR), SHRM (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP), or CEBS preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (speaking and writing).
  • Experience managing all aspects of benefits open enrollment.


Compensation & Additional Details
This temporary, remote position offers a starting hourly pay of $32-36. In addition, this role offers medical, dental, vision, and voluntary life insurance, an employee assistance plan (EAP), and commuter and transit benefits for those who are working on average 30 or more hours per week. An employee retirement plan is also available.
