Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Clerk in Montecito, California. The role primarily involves processing invoices, reconciling billing to guest accounts, and maintaining ledgers and records of hotel receivables. This position is integral to the daily operations of our finance department, where you will also assist with various tasks as needed.

Responsibilities:
• Ensure accurate processing of all invoices and reconciliation of billing to guest accounts
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of departmental policies, service procedures, and standards, adhering to them on a daily basis
• Assist in the completion of month-end accounting procedures, including the generation of monthly reports
• Handle guest inquiries related to billing and settle statement balances monthly
• Post charges and invoices to guest accounts, bill and send out monthly statements to guests
• Assist in contacting clients to verify receipt of bills and handle guest disputed charges courteously
• Maintain complete and detailed records of hotel receivables and post all transactions incurred
• Research credit card company inquiries and respond with back-up information within a given timeframe
• Print aging reports for all accounts 30 days past due and submit to the Accounting Manager
• Trace all authorized service and contract payments and process payments according to contracted due dates

• Proficiency in account reconciliation is a must for this role.

• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) is required.

• Applicant should have knowledge of billing procedures.

• Familiarity with cash applications is essential.

• Experience in cash collections is a prerequisite for this role.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary.

• The candidate should have a strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• The ability to analyze information and problem-solve is required.

• Excellent communication skills are a must for interacting with clients and colleagues.

• The candidate should demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

• A solid understanding of basic accounting principles is necessary.

• The candidate should have a positive attitude and the ability to work as part of a team.

• A high degree of confidentiality and discretion is required.
