Under the direct supervision of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet established standards for quality, safety, and customer specifications. The role involves monitoring production processes, performing safety checks, and maintaining compliance with company policies and food safety regulations.

Work Schedule:

  • 4:00 P.M – Finish

Job Responsibilities:

  • Follow, monitor, and enforce all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food safety procedures.
  • Utilize proper PPE and adhere to OSHA guidelines.
  • Ensure production lines remain operational and that chlorine and pH levels are within operational limits.
  • Conduct regular checks of chlorine and pH levels using calibrated instruments.
  • Verify interlocks on wash water lines and troubleshoot alarms in real time to prevent downtime or product loss.
  • Perform daily GMP monitoring, product specification analysis, and ATP swabbing for allergen verification.
  • Inspect raw materials and perform non-conforming product reviews.
  • Ensure product compliance with customer specifications and conduct HACCP verification checks.
  • Monitor environmental conditions, including temperature checks (exposure to 35&degree;F), and ensure facility is "audit-ready."
  • Oversee and assist with regulatory inspections, calibrations, and documentation accuracy.
  • Maintain communication with production supervisors and leads to address issues promptly.
  • Respond to wash water and line stoppage issues and assist in troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure compliance with established quality and food safety policies.
  • Provide training to QA Technicians on quality, food safety, and personnel safety guidelines.
  • Conduct orientation and routine refresher training as needed.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records of inspections, verifications, and audits.
  • Verify and archive documents related to quality control, production, and safety.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Assist in controlling waste and enforcing safety regulations.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Quality Assurance Supervisor.

Employment Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science or relevant field preferred (for supervisory positions).
  • Some college coursework preferred for technicians.
  • QA Technician: 2 years of previous QA experience in food manufacturing or a relevant industry.
  • QA Supervisor: 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English (bilingual English/Spanish is a plus).
  • Basic math, computer (Microsoft Word & Excel), and writing skills are required.
  • HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) training preferred.
  • Must pass an assessment and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Ability to lift and move items over 75 lbs as needed.
  • Prolonged exposure to temperatures of 35&degree;F.
