Job Summary:

Sutter Health is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing routine and specialized nuclear medicine procedures to produce high-quality images for physicians and other healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Competently perform nuclear medicine procedures to produce accurate and high-quality images.
  • Work independently, exercising sound judgment and developed clinical skills to execute safe and precise procedures.
  • Gain confidence and cooperation from patients, their families, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure patient privacy and safety.
  • May also be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or helping orient other staff to the department.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of an educational program in Nuclear Medicine accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology or the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
  • Successful completion of an educational program in Radiography accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
  • RHN-Radiologic Health Nuclear Medicine (Department of Public Health) certification (required if working in California).
  • NMT- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) certification.
  • OR ARRT(N)-Nuclear Medicine Technology (American Register of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
  • 5 years of recent relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of diagnostic nuclear medicine principles, procedures, views, and equipment.
  • Experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies.
  • Capable of performing routine nuclear medicine examinations and basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including prioritizing assignments and working within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods.
  • General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and related information systems.

Work Environment:

This is a per diem/casual position with a pay range of $72.43 to $90.51 per hour. Sutter Health is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
