Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Excise Tax Examiner 3 to join our team at the Washington State Department of Revenue. As a key member of our Public Works unit, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely collection of excise taxes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and resolve complex excise tax examinations to ensure proper liability and distribution.
  • Provide expert consultation to staff on mission-critical systems, laws, rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Plan and conduct training for internal and external audiences on the Public Works Contracts process.
  • Administer the Public Works Contract program and assist with the Corporate Dissolution Program.

Requirements:

  • 12 semester hours of accounting coursework.
  • One year of experience as an Excise Tax Examiner 2 or two years of Department of Revenue experience in accounting, auditing, compliance, or tax administration.
