Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Meat Cutter to join our team at KJ's Market. As a Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for preparing product for sale, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of sanitation and quality.

Responsibilities
  • Provide polite and friendly service to guests.
  • Prepare product for sale (cutting, weighing, trimming) according to KJ's Market standards.
  • Price, stock, and rotate frozen and prepared meats and fresh meat case.
  • Provide special customer service requests (e.g. special cuts, slicing, etc.).
  • Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, sales, and prep areas.
  • Maintain high quality, freshness, and properly dated product available for sale.
  • Communicate temperature failures to supervisor.
  • Announce meat department sale items on the PA system.
  • Assist in product receiving and storage.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to lift 100 lbs. occasionally and 40 lbs. constantly.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Effective communication and guest service skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to work in a cold environment.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Previous meat cutting experience.
  • Meat cutting skill test qualifications.
