Role Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused respiratory care in alignment with departmental needs and professional standards. As an integral member of the patient care team, you will perform various diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures while monitoring patients on both invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including evaluation of breath sounds, airway integrity, and cuff pressure. Perform diagnostic tests to determine the necessity and effectiveness of respiratory therapies.
  • Administer respiratory treatments, such as oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist in the placement of artificial airways and manage mechanical ventilation processes.
  • Monitor patient responses to therapy and promptly notify healthcare providers of any adverse reactions.
  • Facilitate the safe transportation of patients requiring ventilatory support.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations, ensuring airway management and adequate ventilation during resuscitation efforts.
Required Qualifications:
  • STABLE certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment.
  • Must hold a State Registered Respiratory Therapist license.
  • An Associate Degree is required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within one year of employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within one year of employment.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification must be obtained within one year of employment.

No travel is required for this position, and no prior experience is necessary.
