We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Representative to join our team at Sutter Health. As a key point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless registration and financial clearance process.

Job Overview

This position is responsible for serving as the face-to-face point of contact for patients at client locations. You will obtain necessary information to register and financially clear patients, while enhancing the patient experience through excellent customer service skills.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for supporting the success of a high-performing shared services organization by championing and driving the long-term vision of MFSS. Additionally, you will participate in programs and tools that promote a high-performance culture via performance measurement, people development, customer relationship management, etc.

Requirements
  • Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of required degree or diploma
  • HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
  • Associate's Degree preferred
Preferred Experience
  • Experience within a hospital or clinic environment, insurance company, managed care organization, or other financial service setting
  • Performing financial counseling, financial clearance, and/or customer service activities
Skills and Qualifications
  • General knowledge of patient access financial counseling functions in acute and non-acute settings preferred
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology desired
  • Working knowledge and understanding of insurance terminology, EMTALA, and Consent Laws
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage frequent patient contacts
  • Demonstrated ability to work in multiple computer systems, such as patient registration/accounting systems
  • Strong data entry skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and active listening skills
  • Interpersonal skills necessary in dealing with internal and external customers
