\t* Develops and recommends short/long range objectives consistent with hospital guidelines.
\t* Prepares department operational budgets and presents them to executive staff (AVP) for approval.
\t* Manages the unit's overall operations/fiscal assets in accordance with MedStar Washington Hospital Center policies and procedures.
\t* Conducts sound business practices contributing to the fiscal financial success of the department and MedStar Washington.
\t* Develops annual capital acquisition budget and replacement plan, oversees the purchasing and installation of all capital equipment.
\t* Ensures that quality controls and operations conform to local, state, and federal governmental regulations.
\t* Coordinates preparation for inspection by regulatory agencies and ensures recommendations are executed.
\t* Maintains familiarity with all current and proposed legislation.
\t* Ensures that written protocols are updated and available for all procedures and addresses patient and medical staff complaints.
\t* Oversees organization and staffing plans to ensure they are consistent and adequate for attainment of objectives.
\t* Reviews staffing recommendations and makes modifications as necessary to ensure mission completion.
\t* Hires, trains, guides, evaluates, and develops supervisor subordinate staff in accordance with defined policies and objectives.
\t* Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities of subordinates are defined and understood.
\t* Serves as liaison with educational institutions and their department directors that participate in joint training programs in Nuclear Medicine technology.
\t* Directs proper use of all information systems used in Nuclear Medicine for patient care and billing purposes, ensuring patient privacy.
\t* Oversees training of all staff and assures information systems containing patient data is effectively used.
\t* Directs staff on how to manage and maintain proper storage of Nuclear Medicine patient films and digital media.
\t* Updates department CDM and communicates relevant changes and information to the work group.", "Qualifications": "

\t* Associate degree plus 10 or more years' experience may be considered.
\t* 5-7 years of progressively more responsible job-related experience.
