Washington, United States Palantir Technologies Full time

A Transformative Organization

Palantir develops cutting-edge software that empowers data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency. By connecting the right information to the individuals who require it, our platforms enable partners to create life-saving medical solutions, anticipate supply chain challenges, locate missing persons, and much more.

The Position

Our team consists of experts in cybersecurity and U.S. Government regulations. We are passionate about crafting innovative solutions to complex security challenges. Our objective is to deploy software that meets our clients' most urgent needs swiftly while maintaining the trust of governmental bodies. This is achieved through close collaboration with stakeholders and direct management of the Authorization to Operate (ATO) process.

As an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE), you will engage in diverse projects that leverage your extensive technical background. You are resourceful, cooperative, and proactive in enhancing our procedures over time. Most importantly, you are eager to tackle new challenges and discover inventive ways to support essential missions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Secure ATOs for Palantir software across various government clients with minimal supervision.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, policy knowledge, and high-quality documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers to interpret security mandates and devise effective control implementations.
  • Transform and consolidate intricate concepts and architectures into clear evidence artifacts, including System Security Plans (SSP) and architecture diagrams.
  • Represent Palantir and provide credible cybersecurity expertise during government evaluations and audits.
What We Value
  • Expertise in interpreting and conveying government policy to a varied audience.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks under pressure, utilizing time management and organizational skills.
  • A keen attention to detail and a proven ability to operate creatively within stringent government frameworks.
  • Familiarity with information security principles and core technologies (e.g., authentication, encryption, firewalls, vulnerability scanning, SIEM/SOAR, audit logs).
What We Require
  • Active U.S. DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance with a willingness to upgrade and maintain a higher level of access.
  • Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity within a U.S. Government context.
  • Willingness and interest to travel as necessary to client sites. Ability to travel 25% preferred, but requirements may vary by location.

Life at Palantir

We strive for every Palantirian to achieve their best outcomes, which is why we celebrate individual strengths, skills, and interests, from the initial interview to long-term growth, rather than relying on traditional career paths. By focusing on the needs of our community, we optimize our opportunities for growth and ensure multiple pathways to success at Palantir. Promoting health and well-being across all aspects of Palantirians' lives is just one of the ways we invest in our community.

In alignment with Palantir's values and culture, we believe employees are "better together," and in-person work fosters more creative outcomes. Therefore, we encourage employees to work from our offices to enhance connectivity and innovation. Many teams offer hybrid options (working from home a day or two a week), allowing employees to find the right balance for their personal productivity. Based on business needs, a few roles may allow for remote work on an exceptional basis. If applying for one of these roles, you must work from the state in which you are employed. If the posting specifies Onsite, you are required to work from an office.

Palantir is dedicated to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion and is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer. We believe that all Palantirians share the responsibility of upholding our commitment to these values and encourage candidates from a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences to join us in addressing the world's most challenging problems. Palantir does not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, status as a protected veteran, status as an individual with a disability, or other applicable legally protected characteristics.
