AIRPORT OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

Position Overview:
This role supports the Airport Operations Manager in ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and operational excellence within the airport environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the daily management of airfield and security operations.
  • Provide necessary documentation to demonstrate compliance with security regulations.
  • Maintain and update records of individuals with authorized access to restricted areas.
  • Facilitate training programs and maintain compliance documentation.
  • Oversee the fingerprinting and background check processes as mandated by security regulations.
  • Administer the issuance of airport identification and ensure adherence to security protocols.
  • Conduct inspections of airfield facilities to guarantee safety and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor terminal buildings and ground transportation areas to ensure compliance with airport standards.
  • Address operational issues related to safety and security, coordinating with relevant personnel.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on activities and incidents, recommending procedural improvements.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to support airport operations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Understanding of TSA Security Directives and airport operational regulations.
  • Familiarity with current trends in airport operations management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to make informed decisions in emergency situations.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess situations and implement appropriate actions.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Capability to maintain accurate records and establish positive working relationships.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties in various environmental conditions.
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Education and Experience:
  • Completion of two years of college-level coursework in aviation or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in airport operations.
  • Experience in operations or administration at an airport or military airbase is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.

Additional Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a background investigation, including a Criminal History Records Check.
  • Compliance with direct deposit requirements for payroll.
  • Availability for shifts to support a 24/7 operational schedule.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
