Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Estimator Intern to join our Estimating Team at Interstates, Inc. in Sioux Center. As a Project Estimator Intern, you will be responsible for estimating electrical industrial automation projects and working closely with our team to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze bid specifications, bid drawings, and other bid documents to prepare accurate estimates.
  • Consult with clients and vendors to gather information and prepare estimates.
  • Develop detailed scopes of work for proposal documents.
  • Build complete estimates of project costs using pricing tools.
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal team members regarding estimates.
Requirements
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Instrumentation, SCADA, PLC/HMI, Mechatronics, Business, Finance, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of industrial process automation equipment and systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems.
Preferred Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read CAD drawings and P&IDs.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Sound judgment skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work.
