About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Johns Hopkins Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room by setting up sterile surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies during the surgical procedure.
  • Perform sponge and sharps counts to ensure accuracy and safety.
  • Provide solutions to the surgeons and ensure there are no breaks in sterile technique.
Work Environment

Our Pediatric and Peds/Adult Congenital Cardiac OR has 10 operating rooms and 2 procedure rooms. We have a diverse range of surgical subspecialties, including pediatric general surgery, cardiac, neurosurgery, otolaryngology, orthopedics, urology, plastic, burns, trauma, transplant, gastrointestinal, fetal surgery, and dental. We also perform adult overflow cases, oncology-LP & chemo, and anesthesia-assisted intubation.

Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a Surgical Technology training program or equivalent Surg Tech Military training/work experience is required.
  • BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.
