Job Summary:

As a Surgical Technologist I Certified at Johns Hopkins Health System, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare the operating room by setting up sterile surgical instruments and supplies. During surgical procedures, you will anticipate the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies, performing sponge/sharps counts, and providing solutions to the surgeons. Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining sterile technique will be essential in ensuring the highest quality care for our patients.

Responsibilities:

Prepare the operating room by setting up sterile surgical instruments and supplies
Anticipate the needs of the surgeon during surgical procedures
Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon as needed
Perform sponge/sharps counts to ensure accuracy and safety
Maintain sterile technique throughout the surgical procedure

Requirements:

High School diploma or GED equivalent required
Successful completion of a Surgical Technology training program or equivalent Surg Tech Military training/work experience required
BLS CPR certification required (AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted)
CST certification via the NBSTSA required
