Job Description

BCforward is seeking a dedicated IT Support Technician to join our team.

Position Title: IT Support Technician

Location: Remote

Expected Duration: 12+ Months (Contract)

Job Type: Full-time, Contract, On-site

Compensation: $27/hr to $28.25/hr

Please note that actual compensation may vary based on various factors such as experience and job responsibilities.

Role Overview:


• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving intricate installation and maintenance issues.


• Provide on-site technical support to clients, including the installation, servicing, and repair of systems and equipment.


• Address customer inquiries related to hardware installation, repair, upgrades, and maintenance.


• Educate clients on the operation and upkeep of systems and equipment.


• Ensure that issues are escalated to the appropriate teams for follow-up and resolution.


• Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.


• Conduct analysis and generate reports on system issues and trends.

Essential Qualifications:


• Experience with ticketing and asset management systems.


• Proficient in hardware/software installation, support, and troubleshooting.


• Familiarity with Windows XP, 10, and 11.


• Experience with Mac OS and iOS support.


• Knowledge of network printers, including HP configuration and consumable management.


• Proficient in Active Directory, MS Office, and OS365.


• Strong networking troubleshooting skills.


• Experience with VPN connectivity and security support.


• Ability to configure new PCs/notebooks through imaging and SCCM.


• Capable of remote installation of software/hardware and providing support.


• Understanding of basic networking concepts and Hands & Eyes support.


• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.

Preferred Education and Training:


• High school diploma or G.E.D.


• Certifications from Lenovo or other vendors.


• CompTIA A+, Network+/Security+ certifications (preferred but not mandatory).


• Apple training (preferred but not mandatory).

Work Environment:


• Office setting.


• Interaction with walk-up kiosks, vending machines, and network printers.


• May involve work in a Data Center or Telco Closet.


• Weekend work may be required for critical support.


• On-call coverage and shift work may be necessary.
