Opportunity Overview

Hartford HealthCare (HHC) is seeking a highly skilled Neurosurgery Physician Assistant/APRN to join our Advanced Practice team at Hartford Hospital located in Hartford, CT.

This role will provide 24/7 coverage on the inpatient side of neurosurgery, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team of attending neurosurgeons and APPs to provide advanced specialized care to neurosurgical patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing neurosurgical brain and spine patients on the floor, stepdown, and ICU settings.
  • Intake H&Ps, progress notes, consultations, pre- and post-operative care, and discharges.
  • Providing neurosurgical consultations in the hospital and in the emergency department.
  • Performing bedside procedures: external ventricular drains, ICP monitors, lumbar drains, shunt taps.
  • First assisting the attending neurosurgeon in the operating room in brain and spine surgeries.
