Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Hematology Oncology Outpatient Registered Nurse to become part of a prominent healthcare organization. This position focuses on delivering exceptional care to adult patients dealing with blood cancers and hematologic conditions in an outpatient environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide thorough nursing care tailored to the unique needs of patients, taking into account age-related considerations and oncology nursing principles.
- Administer treatments and medications as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment options, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Preferred educational background includes an Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas or a Compact Registered Nursing License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required in accordance with healthcare policies.
- Preferred certifications include Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Provider and Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN).
