Outpatient Bone Marrow Transplant Nurse

About the Role
St. David's South Austin Medical Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Transplant and Cellular Therapy Clinic. As an Outpatient Bone Marrow Transplant Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to patients undergoing blood and marrow transplant procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing bone marrow transplants, including pre-transplant, transplant, and post-transplant care.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, perform procedures, and monitor patients' conditions to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to address concerns and provide emotional support.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in bone marrow transplant care.
Requirements
- 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Provider certification (preferred)
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification (preferred)
