Main Responsibilities:

1. Perform a variety of laboratory tests and report data for diagnosis and treatment of patients.

2. May perform procedures across major laboratory areas or concentrate in one area such as Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, or Microbiology.

3. No supervision is required for specimen processing or reporting of patient test results.

Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities:

1. Comply with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.

2. Attend various meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed.

3. Demonstrate use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.

4. Comply with all health and safety regulations and requirements.

5. Respect diverse views and approaches, demonstrate Standards of Respect, and contribute to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility, and acceptance toward all employees, patients, and visitors.

6. Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.

7. Perform other similar and related duties as required or directed.

Position Qualifications:

1. Registered MT (ASCP) or equivalent.

2. Experience in a laboratory setting.

3. LIS experience is a plus.

Unless certification, licensure, or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience providing proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
