About the Role

This opening is for a Corporate Controller position in the Finance Group based in Fremont, California. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering cost-effective and efficient accounting and financial systems, policies and processes that meet the current and future business requirements of the organization. The role reports to the VP of Finance or Chief Financial Officer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the worldwide accounting and financial reporting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue, general ledger, consolidations and payroll functions.
  • Responsible for the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close processes.
  • Coordinate with FP&A on budgets, forecast v. actual reporting and other management metrics.
  • Oversee internal and external teams responsible for tax functions (e.g. sales tax, VAT and GST filings, corporate tax filings, tax provision, R&D tax credits).
  • Support corporate compliance and treasury activities.
  • Coordinate and manage the timely deliverables for external audits.
  • Support all Parent Company financial and management reporting and presentation requirements.
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining and implementing corporate and financial policies, processes and controls.
  • Ensure compliance with financial and accounting regulations.
  • Financial oversight for the Company's ERP/GL system (SAP) and Consolidations platform (Planful).
  • Project manage on-going enhancements to our ERP, Consolidations and other systems.
  • Manage, train and mentor an accounting staff of more than 15 individuals, across 6 countries.
  • Establish KPIs for the Accounting organization; work with direct reports to achieve KPIs.
  • Serve as lead accounting contact that coordinates with Parent Company and cross-functionally.
  • Partner effectively with cross-functional departments and Business Leaders; ensure highest standard of customer service to internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 10+ years experience running a general accounting or shared services group, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong experience managing and mentoring a team of individuals.
  • In-depth understanding of U.S. GAAP and SOX-related requirements.
  • Capable of managing difficult and demanding situations; strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate complex situations simply.
  • Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work effectively within time constraints effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to lead complex projects through to an end point; strong project management skills.
  • Proficiency working within an ERP system and other accounting-related applications.
  • Ability to motivate, manage and develop individuals to reach their best potential.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Prior experience as an Assistant or Corporate Controller preferred.
Bonus:
  • Experience in cost accounting and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in SAP.
  • Proficiency in Planful.
  • Knowledge of PRC GAAP.
